Group Sessions
Our group sessions focus on building social thinking and equipping children with essential skills such as social interaction, negotiation, emotional regulation, communication, understanding self and others, theory of mind, flexibility, and appropriate expression of emotions to name a few. Children are introduced to the constantly changing dynamics of the social world in a fun, engaging, stimulating, and culturally appropriate manner.
These sessions are thoughtfully planned, keeping each child’s social context, learning styles, and motivation in mind. Children learn that there is no single “right way” to interact in the social world. Instead, they are empowered to be present, observe, absorb appropriate information, infer, and develop socially appropriate behaviors. Through this, we enable children to think using various senses and understand expected versus unexpected behaviors in the social world.
Our group sessions are highly interactive, fluid, and practical, ensuring that the skills learned can be easily applied in everyday life. Parents are actively involved, receiving training to understand these concepts and helping their children apply them regularly, leading to lasting improvements in social interactions.
In addition, these sessions focus on regulation activities, encouraging children to co-regulate with adults and peers through fun and enriching activities. By learning these skills in a playful, pressure-free environment, children eventually transition to co-regulating in their school and family settings naturally, without feeling the need to “fit in.”
